Some people look like they're so busy, so busy doing what I wonder sometimes....they surely don't look like the kind of people who would be busy saving the world, or taking part in peace negotiations for war hit countries somewhere, they definately don't look like the kind that would be leading a revolt against the government and i'm sure they haven't been personally invited by the prime minister of the country for their special consultations! Then what are they so busy with, that they don't have a single minute to spare to look around at the mundane's of everyday in a new light....the rose petals that seem to have shed since yesterday or the cookies on the office counter that look different today or the books on the shelf that seem to be catching dust on them. What are they so busy with that they don't have a few minutes to just laugh because they feel like it....no reason, no jokes, just because. What are they so busy with that even if their paths collide with someone from whom they can gain tremendous learning and inspiration, they ignore them and choose to remain engaged with their "important" work.
Maybe they know enough to keep doing their job, and they're doing it well after all, so what's the problem. Maybe showing interest in anything other than their work would mean that they are laxing at work. Or maybe there are only specific things worth showing interest for.......like sports, music, drinking, dancing........things that relieve them of their "stressed out" lifestyle. "Work is seperate from play" they say, I wonder if they also say work is seperate from being alive! Maybe thats why, being alive has taken second priority for them........
What is it that theyre doing thats so important I wonder, that you need to keep life aside for it?
Where is the wonder about life gone???? As a friend of mine said the other day...What kind of person must it have taken to look at the sky and say.... "twinkle twinkle little star, how i wonder what you are?", to go on......."up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky." Does that wonder still exist, or do these so called busy people of the world pass it off as frivolous insignificances. What is so significant then I want to ask them? What is so significant that even creation itself has become insignificant?
